Amy Tai is a PhD student in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on applying machine learning and large language models to improve the clinical workflow for both physicians and patients. Previously, she completed her Master of Applied Sciences in the Systems Design Engineering program and her Bachelor of Applied Science in Management Engineering at the University of Waterloo. In the past, Amy has led the Cancer-Net open source initiative in her lab, aiming at improving cancer diagnosis and treatment planning with computer vision models. Outside of research, she enjoys playing squash, travelling, hiking, and swimming.
