Ferdaous Idlahcen is a Ph.D. candidate at UM6P_SHCC – Faculty of Medical Sciences & UM6P Hospitals and a data scientist at DataPathology. With an interdisciplinary background in medical biotechnology (bioinformatics option), mathematics, and computer science, she specializes in digital and computational pathology, currently focusing on cytology and AI-driven analysis of gynecological tissue specimens to identify imaging biomarkers/pathomic signatures associated with drug resistance. Honored with the Coimbra Group Award for Young Researchers from the European Neighborhood, Ferdaous is also conducting cutting-edge research in Granada, Spain.
Ferdaous is a recipient of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Maghreb 2025 and a strong advocate for safe AI practices in African clinical settings, ensuring technology serves patients ethically and effectively. In line with this vision, she is a board member of the African Society of Digital Pathology, supporting the foundation and expansion of digital pathology in Africa.
