Tahmina Sultana Priya is a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science at Virginia Tech. Her research focuses on machine learning for health, explainable AI, and precision medicine, with an emphasis on interpretable, algorithm-driven models for prognosis, subgroup discovery, and clinical outcome analysis in complex disorders. She has experience as a bioinformatics research intern and has collaborated with the Mayo Clinic, where she worked with electronic health records and multi-omics data to advance precision medicine. She holds an M.S. from Virginia Tech and a B.Sc. from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh, both in Computer Science. She is currently preparing for her Ph.D. defense and seeking research opportunities, with a long-term goal of pursuing a career in academia. She is a highly motivated and independent researcher with a strong work ethic and a passion for tackling new challenges to create meaningful societal impact. She also enjoys meeting new people, socializing, and traveling.
