Uzma Pathan is a final-year PhD candidate in Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at the University of Maryland, United States. Her research includes pharmacoepidemiologic methods, focusing on opioid use disorder (OUD) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Her dissertation investigates treatment initiation, longitudinal treatment trajectories of opioid agonist therapy and direct-acting antivirals, and associated health outcomes among individuals with co-occurring OUD and HCV using large administrative claims databases. She is particularly interested in generating real-world evidence to inform treatment access and reduce disparities in care among vulnerable populations.
